X-Factor #247 - Rising Again Review

X-Factor #247 Review

A newly-married X-Factor couple attempts to Honeymoon in the happiest place on Earth...

...but instead face-off with a villain hoping to bring about HELL on Earth!

Cover/Solicit - 3/5

- Would I pick-up the comic based on the solicit/cover alone? Are the alternate covers appealing? Does the solicit/cover portray what happens in the issue?

Art - 4/5

- Do I personally like this artist's style? Does the artist stay true to the characters appearance?

Colors/Ink/Lettering - 4/5

- Does the work blend well with the artist? Is the coloring/inking enjoyable and easy to distinguish what's happening? Can I easily read the lettering?

Layout/Flow - 4/5

- Does the layout of the issue make it easy to read? Does the issue have a good flow of the plot and keep me engaged?

Story - 3/5

- Weighted Triple. How well did the issue further develop the current story? How well did the issue further develop the characters? Did I enjoy reading the issue?

Verdict - 3.4

- Like X-Factor #246 - Short Story this seems to be a filler issue, and unfortunately we don't get to see the repercussions from the last issue yet. Where is my Civil War zombie battle!?! I was excited when I saw this cover thinking sweet we get to see Madrox fighting a bunch of zombies, but nope. The solicit kinda makes it seem like there is going to be a new ongoing villain for X-Factor, again nope. What we do get is a fight with single zombie, Robert E. Lee, who seems to be upset about Civil War reenactments. Even though this is not a Marvel NOW! series yet, maybe the zombies have something to do with what's happening in Deadpool. The issue is basically Madrox and Layla Miller getting married in Vegas, and while there something has killed the Officiant who was dressed as Abraham Lincoln. Madrox then has to find the culprit and put them to rest, literally. It was a fun issue and not a bad read, but it didn't really further anything with the characters or the team. I'd say skip this one if you had to.
